Colder temperatures mean more money and busier days

Anyone working in the heating and cooling industry can tell you that the busiest time of the year is during the seasons when we have terrible cold air and relentless heat.

I look forward to cold nights and the need for the furnace and the fireplace.

My brother and I own a heating and cooling repair business. We service all of the neighborhood and cash of the valley. Colder temperatures mean more money and busier days. Work has been slow for the past couple of months, so I know we are both looking forward to busy days. My brother and I have been relying on residential and commercial heating and cooling repairs, but a couple of installation jobs would be really helpful. The average heating equipment installation job is about $2,000, but the average repair is only around $200. It’s hard to feed the family on repairs alone, so I’m hopeful that things will pick up shortly. We have cold weather and grey skies forecasted for the beginning of the month and I think we might even have the chance for a winter storm, so it’s the perfect time to start thinking about a tune-up or replacement on the heating equipment. I think now is the perfect time to send a coupon to all of the customers on our mailing list, but my brother said we should wait another week until the outdoor temperatures are just a little bit colder. The coupon usually increases business by 10 or 15%, so we always send something to our customers before the first really long cold snap occurs.
