Let’s try the cheapest options first

I happen to be a particularly thrifty person.

I grew up in a household where we did not have many resources and I have learned to get by by being resourceful.

I know that not everybody has the same outlook as I do. Many of my friends and family members actually enjoy spending their money rather than saving it for a rainy day. Personally, I would rather sit on a stack of cash in case anything ever went wrong. That’s why I try to find the easiest solutions to my problems before I start shelling out an enormous amount of cash willy-nilly. Most recently, this was a conversation that needed to be had with my roommate. He has been absolutely obsessed with the idea of installing air media purification systems to run in tandem with our central heating and cooling system for a few months now. He has been researching all of the benefits of air purification units and UV light disinfectant equipment. I understand that he has gotten very serious about his indoor air quality as it relates to immune system health. I would never want him to suffer from any respiratory ailments or larger immune system failures. That being said, I don’t think we need to purchase a brand new heating and cooling system before we attempt some less drastic measures. There are cheaper ways to find out if our indoor air quality makes a big difference for him or not. Namely, I think we should start with a few HEPA air filters in our existing central heating and cooling equipment. Maybe we can get by with some pricey air filters rather than a full-fledged HVAC upgrade. Or maybe I’m just cheap.
