I decided to get into beekeeping

I desperately needed an interest to keep myself sane when the pandemic started in early 2020.

  • For too long I relied on watching TV and browsing the internet mindlessly whenever I wasn’t tied up at work doing my job.

When the chaos started, I was always worrying and couldn’t put my mind at ease no matter what I tried. That’s when I went to the store to get a painting kit, although I couldn’t get the hang of it. All of my paintings looked bad and I wasn’t improving even after I watched half a dozen tutorial videos on YouTube. I was at my wit’s end trying to find something to keep my mind tied up when I’m away from work, and I looked at multiple DIY forums on the internet before I finally settled on beekeeping. This may seem like a big leap from painting, although I have always been a honey fanatic and have thought about the process of owning bees ever since I was a child. The process fascinated me, especially seeing beekeepers on TV with their suits and smoker devices. After reading a load of information off a particular beekeeping forum, I decided to call a residential beekeeping service. They help people get into the practice of tending to honey bees and harvesting their honey from the hives that they build. The beekeeping residential service also showed me where I can find the unit needed to get started. There are retailers who sell the hive boxes, the suits, and the smokers as well. I’m happy to be enjoying an interest that I’m finally getting good at with constant trial and error.
