A lot of times, people have to make difficult decisions about what they can buy & what can wait until some other time.
I have always been in that situation.
I have never had much extra currency at the end of each month, & I often had to turn to credit cards to get through life. I have not used credit to buy anything since I purchased our used car about 6 years ago, though. I now have a salary & a side hustle that allow me to live within our means most of the time. In fact, I am paying off the debt now. Now that I have a nice amount of income, I also don’t have to put off things I used to have to do without. For example, tires on the car. In the past, I would have to wait until I had a blowout before I could get current tires. Also, when the cooling system broke in the car, I lived without it. I had no cooling system in our car for five years, & living without the a/c was miserable, let me tell you. Also, doing preventive maintenance was rare back in those mornings; When the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C in the condo went out, the two of us would call in the heating & cooling maintenance supplier, & they would always command the two of us purchase a heating & cooling annual maintenance contract, however the two of us never had the currency. Now, because I think that Heating, Ventilation plus A/C maintenance is wise, I have that yearly Heating, Ventilation plus A/C tune-up agreement. I have a little extra currency & I choose to spend a little of it to make sure that the heating & cooling is well worked on. It is less likely to malfunction this way, & those 100 degree mornings can be combated with our smoothly running cooling system. If the cooling system should happen to split down one morning, the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C agreement also allows me to have first option when it comes to maintenance calls.
