When my wife and I were looking for a new house, it was one of the most stressful points in our marriage. We wanted to have enough room, but also stay within our budget. One thing I, in particular, wanted in a new house was to have a “man cave” of sorts, separate from my office, where my friends and I could watch movies, smoke cigars, and hang out without disturbing my wife, or our future baby. We found the perfect house, in the perfect location, but it was missing space for a man cave. It did, however, have a ten by twelve foot shed in the backyard that would be perfect for the space I wanted. In order to convert it to a liveable space it of course had to have air conditioning and heating. Rather than go through the hassle of installing ductwork, or using an ugly, expensive window unit, I decided to use a ductless mini-split for my mancave HVAC system. A ductless mini-split is an affordable, easy to install appliance that can be used to heat and cool a room, without the need for HVAC ducts, and since there are no ducts, I only needed to drill a three inch hole for all of the necessary components connecting the inside unit to the outside. My ductless mini-split has been a great addition to my space, and it has ensured my comfort and the comfort of my guests no matter the temperature outside, the temperature inside has always been comfortable. Since the ductless mini-split is so much more efficient than a window unit, I have saved hundreds of dollars every month, especially since it’s a room that I spend so much time in.
