The hotel wasn’t nearly as nice as the pictures

My wife and I went to a hotel this year for our anniversary. We took the kids to my mom and dad and they spent the entire weekend with the two of them. My wife made a reservation at a hotel in the city. It was close to the museum and the aquarium and my wife wanted to visit both of those places on our weekend in the city. My wife showed me photographs of the hotel and the pictures looked great. We had a private balcony with a table and two chairs. We had a garden tub in the bathroom and a separate shower. We even had our own kitchenette with pots, pans, silverware, and plates. The room looked modern and sophisticated, so I didn’t mind spending $300 a night for the hotel. When my wife and I checked into the hotel, we could tell that the online pictures were taken ten years ago or more. The hotel definitely looked Rundown and the lobby was not as nice as the pictures. My wife and I were also disappointed by our room. We had a garden tub in the bathroom, but none of the Jets worked. Our private balcony was 3 ft in width and 3 feet in length. The HVAC system was the worst part about the entire room. It was an older wall unit with both heat and AC. My wife and I smelled rotten eggs every time the AC turned on. We didn’t even bother to complain about the indoor air conditions or the broken tub in the room. We left the next day.
