I have to keep my heat running while I’m gone to prevent the pipes from freezing

It’s difficult having multiple properties, because you can’t be in more than a single venue at any given moment.

I have a few properties that I use myself or rent out to family members plus friends.

My other condos plus houses are all rental properties 24/7. I don’t have a property management team handling my rentals, however I’m starting to guess that I should. Just hiring an outside handyman plus maintenance team isn’t enough to lighten my heavy workload. I’m driving from a single location to the next on a monthly basis. Even though I don’t have a sixth job, I’m undoubtedly working so much that it feels like I have multiple jobs. It’s hard when you have a renter in a single component waiting on a new air conditioner upgrade, while you have a renter in a odd component calling about a leaking pipe. Now that we’re in the grips of the cold Winter season, my labor has doubled with the needed preparations from a single venue to the next. I tell my renters to run their gas heating systems to keep the pipes from freezing downstairs. A frozen pipe can lead to a giant water leak giant enough to flood an entire basement. In a single of the properties that I keep for personal plus family use, I am regularly making adjustments to the smart control component from my smartphone. I have to turn the gas furnace on high enough to keep the water running without using so much heat that I’m wasting electricity. The last thing I want is a catastrophic flood inside my condo while I’m away at a odd location. Even with flood insurance, serious water injure can be difficult to completely reverse if drywall plus wood framing are exposed.
