My wife and I decided to go away for the weekend.
We had a very long week at work and we wanted to get away from the house and the stress for a couple of days.
Since we made our plans at the last minute, we had to settle for a hotel instead of something with 4 or 5 stars. There was a sports conference in town the same weekend and all of the hotel rooms were booked. We were lucky to find anything to be honest. We didn’t expect the best and most luxurious accommodations, but we did expect the staff to be friendly and courteous. When we arrived at the hotel, no one was sitting behind the front desk. We hit the bell to ring for help. The guy came out of the back with his shirt tucked halfway in. He looked like he came from the bathroom. He gave us our room number and our keys. We took the elevator to the third floor where our room was located. Once we opened the door, we knew we were going to need a different room. There was a huge wet stain in the middle of the room and it looked like the HVAC unit was the reason for the puddle. There was water dripping from an air vent in the ceiling. The drip was steady and easily noticeable. I called the desk to complain about the mess and the leaky ductwork. The front desk clerk told me to throw a towel over the stain. I thought he was joking, but he didn’t seem concerned about the HVAC problem one bit.
