Let’s try the cheapest options first

Namely, I think both of us should start with a few HEPA air filters in our existing central heating and cooling equipment

I happen to be a identifiably thrifty guy. I grew up in a household where both of us did not have several resources and I have l earned to get by by being resourceful. I guess that not everybody has the same outlook as I do, then many of our friends and family members genuinely prefer spending their money rather than saving it for a rainy day. Personally, I would rather stand on a stack of money in case anything ever went wrong. That’s why I try to find the easiest solutions to our problems before I start shelling out an enormous amount of money willy-nilly. Most recently, this was a conversation that needed to be had with our roommate. He has been absolutely obsessed with the plan of installing air media purification systems to run in tandem with our central heating and cooling system for a few weeks now. He has been researching all of the benefits of air purification units and UV light disinfectant equipment. I understand that he has gotten legitimately harsh about his air quality as it relates to immune system health. I would never want him to suffer from any respiratory ailments or greater immune system failures. That being said, I don’t think both of us need to purchase a brand new heating and cooling system before both of us attempt some less harsh measures. There are cheaper ways to find out if our air quality makes a big difference for him or not. Namely, I think both of us should start with a few HEPA air filters in our existing central heating and cooling equipment. Maybe both of us can get by with some overpriced air filters rather than a full-fledged Heating, Ventilation, and A/C upgrade. Or maybe I’m just cheap.
