She told us to tell the technician to call the store
When you’re spending 10 or $20, 10% off doesn’t seem like a lot of money. Of course, it’s much different when you are spending thousands of dollars on an item. My wife and I needed to install a new HVAC unit in our home. We expected the bad news when our machine stopped working and we called a couple of people to get estimates. My wife and I got an estimate from one company that had a 10% off coupon in the homeowner magazine. The estimate from that company was a little bit higher than another company, but we decided to use them because it was quite a bit of savings with the 10% off coupon. On the day that my wife scheduled the installation appointment for the HVAC equipment, she mentioned the coupon and the person on the phone didn’t say anything except ok. When the two HVAC technicians came to install the equipment, they didn’t want to honor the coupon. They told us that the price estimate included savings already. The guy refused to take 10% off the price which was about $750 savings. I called the company and requested to speak with someone in charge. The same lady from earlier was the same person that answered and she was the owner of the company. She told us to tell the technician to call the store. Five minutes later the guy was apologizing for the mixup. He didn’t say anything else the whole time he was on the property. He let the other guy handle the invoice and any questions.
