Doesn’t make sense to have personal heating and cooling now that kids are back

About 10 years ago my husband and I decided that it was time to make some major modifications to our lives.

We had always enjoyed our large family and the life that we shared.

Unfortunately, kids grow up and they move on. When all of our children had left the house we were extremely excited to finally have freedom and independence again. However, we were less than stoked about the silent, empty house that we were now residing in. It no longer made any sense to have a 4 bedroom home with a central heating, cooling, and air quality control system. Since there were only two of us in the house we didn’t need all of that space or air temperature control equipment. We found ourselves spending way too much money on our energy bills each month and we began neglecting the HVAC system because we didn’t want to pay for professional heating and cooling inspections for the two of us. That’s when we went out and bought a mini split ductless heating and cooling systems. We could easily heat or cool the exact space that we were residing in without waste fully running the central HVAC system. Since the COVID nightmare, however, things have changed again. Most of our kids are back in the house and now they brought their own children. Suddenly we need our central heating and cooling system to be working again. It looks like it’s time to finally call the local HVAC repair shop and take care of those diagnostic services that we neglected for ourselves.
