If you are used to relying on a central heating system to stay perfectly warm all day, I recommend that you go to your thermostat and turn off the furnace. It might not seem very healthy, but if you can live without pumping high-quality indoor air through every vent during the chilly season, you will lose a fair amount of weight. You see, when you are relying on a forced air furnace to completely manage your indoor air temperature, that heating implement is also responsible for your internal temperature. This means, you can kick back and lounge around as you absorb all the heat from your expensive air handling device. However, if you live without air temperature control from a massive central heating system, you are forced to generate your own body heat. You will lose a ton of weight by being more active around the house… and as a fun side effect, your energy bills will be so much lower.
