Going to the pool backfired

I was looking forward to when summer came around.

Summer is my favorite season because I love the sunny weather, lots of plant life and all of the activities that go on during the summer.

The only bad thing about summer is the fact that it can get really hot, really fast. It could start out cool and then only a few hours later the temperatures would already be in the 90s. On a particularly hot day, I was invited out by my friends to go to the pool. I briefly considered staying in the air conditioned comfort of my home, but decided against it. The pool should be enough to keep me cool, and I would get to hang out with my friends. I grabbed my favorite bathing suit as well as a few pool floats and headed off. I had a great time with my friends, and sure enough the pool definitely cooled me down. My friends and I played multiple games including water sports and in general had a blast. While I was having a good time with my friends, I had forgotten one important thing, and that was sunscreen. By the end of the day, I was as red as a lobster! I went back home and sat next to the air conditioner. The bad part about having a sunburn is that the heat stays with you, so even though I was literally right next to my cooling unit, I still felt like I was out in the sun! Perhaps I should have stayed in my air conditioning home, or at least remembered to take sunscreen.
