It was like the heat pump was a long lost friend

Just going from inside the HVAC heating of home or office to my car was a lot to handle for me.

I moved home this past October and it was like the best feeling I’ve felt in a long, long time. The past 7 years, I lived in the far north of the country for a job. When I took the job, I was sort of concerned that I wouldn’t fit with the culture I was walking into. That wasn’t the case at all. While there are some cultural differences between north and south, I found that people are just people really. What threw me was the weather and the HVAC heating required. Prior to accepting the job, I considered the fact that I would be experiencing the sort of winter that I had only read about. But in a way, I was sort of just excited to try it. That excitement lasted until about Thanksgiving. The rest of that first winter was spent as close to an HVAC heating source as I could get. The cold of that place was far more intense than I could have even imagined. The house I bought was equipped with a good gas furnace and I put it through the paces that first winter. It’s all I could do really. Just going from inside the HVAC heating of home or office to my car was a lot to handle for me. No way I was going outside the HVAC heating if I didn’t have to. And as for the office, I made sure that I had a space heater at the ready right under my desk. I can promise you that it was no more than it was off for every winter I was up there working. I kissed the heat pump as soon as I moved back to the south.
