My partner and I own a cleaning service that strips, waxes, and cleans flooring.
We handle a variety of different flooring products such as tile, hardwood, and carpet. I have two employees that handle all of the carpet cleaning projects and my partner and I handle all of the flooring proejcts that are not carpet. Last week, we received a call from a hotel downtown. The place was having a huge ball to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the building. The manager wanted us to clean, strip, and wax the floors int he ballroom. The only problem was that they wanted us to perform the work in the middle of the night, when everyone in the building was sleeping. They didn’t want us working on the ballroom floors during the day. I didn’t know if I wanted to pick up a job that had to be done in the middle of the night. My partner was convincred that the job would be easy, since we wouldn’t have anyone in our way while trying to work. I agreed to take the job and we started the flooring on a Thursday night. We cleaned the floors and scrubbed all of the scuff marks, The following night, we waxed the floors. When we were done with the project, the flooring looked great. We got out all of the dark marks on the floor. The owner of the building was truly impressed with the work. He gave us another flooring job in the sister apartment building across town. The ballroom wasn’t as large, but it still took two days as well.
