I really owe a lot to my local heating and air conditioning specialist.
He gave me the best possible advise on how to prolong the lifespan of my central heating and cooling system.
The heat and a/c specialist told me a few things that I never knew or would have thought of. The first was to always set my thermostat no lower than 74 degrees. The HVAC specialist mentioned that if you continuously set the thermostat below that it is going to end up working your central heating and air conditioning system overtime to the point where it could kill it. He also mentioned that changing the air filter on a monthly basis is a must. A lot of people change their air filters every 3 to 4 months. Even if the air filter is not needing to be changed the HVAC specialist said that it should be. By changing the air filter once a month with a fresh one, it helps the heating and air conditioning unit not have to use more power to heat and cool your home. This also helps extend the lifespan of your central heating and air conditioning system. It has been said that central heating and air conditioning units can last up to 20 years without needing to be replaced if they are well taken care of. And what a lot of people think as being well taken care of is not the exact case as my local heating and air conditioning specialist was telling me all about.
