A few years after college was over, one of my best friends decided to get married.
She invited me to attend the wedding! I honestly was hoping to be there to support my old friend, so I decided to go.
My woman and I took the whole weekend off work so we would be able to attend the festivities. We went to the rehearsal dinner, the wedding and the reception. During our stay, we slept in a local hotel that was easily recommended by our friend. I was honestly severely disappointed by the condition of the hotel room. It was rundown and dilapidated. The exterior clearly had a facelift, but the rooms were extremely old and dirty. I was especially disappointed by the heater device. It was a cold weekend with snow on the ground and we could not get the oil furnace to warm up the room. It never got hotter than 68 degrees, even when I had the thermostat set to 78 degrees. I never complained or said a word to my friend about the condition of the hotel or the heater. I did not want to ruin her amazing day with a bunch of complaints that did not actually matter. My woman and I did our best to enjoy our time and we used an additional blanket on the bed at night… When we came back home from the weekend away, the two of us were prepared to crawl into our bed and relax. We easily slept all night and most of the next afternoon. We were grateful to take an extra day off work so we could recuperate after the lengthy weekend and drive.
