For as long as I can remember, I’ve been telling my family about radiant heated flooring as a way to reduce our dirty air, thermostat reliance, and astronomical energy bills each month.
I wish people weren’t so stuck in their ways all the time. It feels like people can’t give up their old ways of living, even when they aren’t super efficient or effective. And that drives me up the wall. I’m just saying, if someone is trying to offer you new information to resolve a troublesome issue, why not try to listen up? Maybe they have something new to tell you. I have this problem in my life, because no one in this family listens to me. They only want to keep doing what they do – living the same stupid way they always did in the past. Which is true even when it’s an inefficient, dirty, and unpredictable way to live. Around here, there are a lot of issues with our central heating and cooling system and indoor air handling devices. We manage to have a lot of family drama over the heating, cooling, and air quality control equipment by refusing to talk about our respective temperature preferences. Instead, we sneak around and mess with the thermostat behind each others backs. All the while, we’re pumping filthy air into our home thanks to the disgusting air ducts that serve the central heating, cooling, and ventilation system. My parents never want to invest in improved indoor air temperature solutions, and therefore, even my ideas about heating system upgrades don’t matter. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been telling my family about radiant heated flooring as a way to reduce our dirty air, thermostat reliance, and astronomical energy bills each month. But my parents ignore me and continually call the HVAC company to keep up with the forced air system. That is, until a neighbor passively mentioned his radiant heated floors last week and all of a sudden, my parents were installing new flooring. Oh, good idea.
