It's no fun to deliver pizzas without AC in the car

I spent every day for two weeks without cool air in the car and I fixed the AC when I got my paycheck

My mom and dad want me to go to college, but I don’t think more school is the answer for me. I don’t think I’m going to make a living delivering pizzas either, which is the job that I have now. My mom and dad think I should look for a better job, but I make about $75 every night and tips. I don’t honestly need more money than that to pay my bills and have fun. I’m not particularly interested in building a huge savings account or creating a nest egg. My mom and dad think both of these things are important. I normally use all of my money from one paycheck until the next. It’s never been a problem until recently, when I had to fix the AC in my car. I didn’t have any money in my savings account and I had to spend two weeks delivering pizzas without any AC in the car. It was miserably hot and humid and I was ready to quit. My mom and dad offered to give me a loan for the money, but I knew it would come with strings attached. I didn’t want to listen to them complain about my job and my lack of direction in life, even for $800. I spent every day for two weeks without cool air in the car and I fixed the AC when I got my paycheck. I didn’t have any cigarettes or beer or weed that week, but I felt really proud when I wrote a check to pay for the AC repair.
