Making the needed renovations to the park

The right idea, at the right time, with the right exposure, can lead to some pretty special results.

Case in point, my friend’s 9 year old sister who started a Go Fund Me to raise money for a local park.

The playground had been closed for renovations about a year ago, which got delayed because of COVID and then again due to budget issues. This girl wanted to skip all of the red tape, bypass the local government, and just raise the money to renovate the whole park with a grassroots campaign, and damned if she didn’t triple her goal! Next she managed to convince a local construction company to help her do the work at a reduced rate. This was pretty smart if you ask me, because construction is never cheap, and these guys are skilled workers who don’t work for minimum wage. The girl hatched the idea of what a good PR move it would be for the construction company, and she would use it to get them free advertising. She was as good as her word, and on the first day on construction the girl had a local news reporter out taking footage of the build. The owner of the construction company was praised for his community service and his whole company came out looking like a million bucks. The local kids ended up with a new park, the construction company saw a surge in business, and the girl seems poised for a tremendous career in politics. I wonder what she will do when she gets older and smarter.
